Hello everyone!

It’s been a long time since I visited this site. Just wanna let you know that I’m free from any kind of contraceptives and I’m feeling great about it. I was traumatised with Mirena, since 2008 till now 2011 We are doing everything in natural and it works just fine.

Try what is best for you, remmember its your body not ours. ..

@Brandy- is your husband a doctor? glad that you are ok, MIrena is not a tampon that you can take it out anytime you want, it can damage in your uterus, bleed etc. But I’m glad that you are feeling better. (*+*)

@ Jennifer, consult your doc. it can be that the s tring is too long. It’s been 3 years since I had Mirena- I don’t even wanna remember this name..

Hello,
This is a great site. After having my daughter I got the Marina fitted 12 months later I went to the doctors with problems all down my left side. It started at different times, I had a headaches that caused me so much pain i had to sleep, lump on my left breast, pain in my left lower abdomen and pain down my left leg, forgetful, I felt i was in a bubble and could not get out, mood swings and tiered most of the time. I went to the doctor because I had a feeling It was my coils I had it in for 14 months and went to 3 doctors about my problems and they said “No, it will not be the coil” The 4th doctor examined me and said I had an infection caused by a reaction to the coil. It was taken out that day and I was given antibiotics, after two weeks I felt great no headaches, no mood swings, no fog head, I fell fantastic and more alert now. I have never looked back and relieved its out and I am back to normal.

My husband just took my mirena out for me. I’ve been sooo bloated & an angry mess, I couldn’t stand feeling like that any longer, & the Dr. was going to charge $200 to take itout! I’m already feeling better.

Hello ladiess I recently had the mirena put in and I’ve had my menstrual for over a week whatt really freaked me out was that the string felt extremely long to me I didn’t know if it had came out of place or if that was normal …well I went to the dr and they just told me that the strings were left long..but at first I couldn’t really feel the strings then after my menstrual came I felt them really long do u guys think it could of came out or after ur mentrual do they feel longer??

I had MIRENA fitted in October 2004 as I had 2 children within 13 months of each other, so decided this was the best way to go… I had bleeding for almost 12 weeks on and off after having it inserted. I kept it in for the 5 years, suffered weight gain and tender breasts and terrible acne - something which I never had even in Puberty!! I didn’t really think much at the time, so when it was due to come out, I got another one fitted in October 2009. I was in absolute agony (worse than any of my labours) for a few days after having the second one and my moods have just been awful. My partner said I have been a nightmare (can’t take a joke, too serious, etc) since around the time I had my first MIRENA.

My sex drive is pretty non-existent - it’s a rarety to even feel like it!! On the rare occassions I do, afterwards I sometimes bleed and last night was really bad - I was in agony after sex and bleeding terribly, I reckon the coil might have moved as my partner seemed to think so. The acne is getting worse and my breasts are tender all the time. I have had a lot of sharp abdominal pains this time round too, so I’m not sure whether it’s time to give up and try something else. I’m only 32 and don’t want sterilised, although I’m not planning any more children, I’d never say never!.

Inserted Nov 17. Had migraines, dizziness, nonstop period, and my vagina smells like a rotten animal. Got it out after 8 weeks. No sex with my hubby my doctor said I didn’t give it a chance. It didn’t give my marriage a chance.
